Meet Moses Njoroge

Moses Njoroge AKA Musa wa Laikipia is a youth champion and an advocate of good governance. I’m from Nanyuki ward, in Laikipia East constituency in Laikipia county.

I am a BBM graduate from MKU, and a diploma holder from K.I.M school of management.

Elections 2017

I am an aspirant for Nanyuki ward MCA (on an independent candidate ticket)

Political structures in Kenya denies young people to take part in their affairs by putting a notion that politics is not for the youths, and although Kenyan youths constitutes the biggest chunk of voters they have not succeeded to harness political power within the political institutions including political parties.

The youths are often relegated to lower and insignificant positions such as youths leagues with limited resources and authority.

We as youths must participate in the political process or else will always be an item on the agenda when the national cake is divided.

I believe that as the youth we must in 2017 send our own on the table or else will only end up on that table like the chicken who always end up on the table but as an item on the menu.

Challenges I face as a youth aspirant.

Lack of enough resources in terms of campaigns funding.

Cultural belief that youths are leaders of tomorrow.

The culture that people believe that when you go into politics you must be very rich therefore expecting lots of money from you.

Having to deal with hooligans that are used by the rich politicians.

Why I believe in better placed.

I am energetic

I am more informed than most of the incumbents in terms of education.

I can connect better more so to the youths who make a big part of the population.

It’s time that the youths are given a chance to lead.

Support that the youths need.

Youths need people of good will that can support them in terms of resources for campaigns.

Moral support and encouragement is very important.

Parties should give at least 30% of nominations to the youths as direct contenders.

Security.

Message to the youths.

Youths constitutes the large percentage of Kenyans population. However the youths are the forgotten majority.

We can change this and make sure that our voices are heard.

We must make a decision to participate in the political process and make sure that our voices are hard.

Taking into consideration that we comprise the majority that means that whatever decision we make as a block can affect this nation from the presidential elections to the village elders.

We must realize the power that is bestowed on our hands in the numbers we have and MAKE IT COUNT.

 I STAND TO BE COUNTED.

“I am propelled by a desire to better the lives of people of Nanyuki and Laikipia as a whole so that when the sun sets on my side I will be glad that I made Kenya a better place than I found it when I was born” SO GOD HELP ME.

Vote Wisely !

VOTE WISELY

By electing leaders, we bestow on them a very important job — taking care of our needs.Unfortunately, some Kenyans vote for people who have given them goodies, which is wrong. But for how long are we going to suffer under bad leaders? Dear Kenyans, enough is enough. Let’s be politically mature this time round.

We know our leaders well. Some have been in power for more than 30 years yet there are no developments in their villages.

Right now, we’re being told that the economy is growing. Isn’t this ironical considering the number of Kenyans wallowing in poverty? Not forgetting lack of jobs, endless strikes and the ongoing drought. How about the drug menace? Why hasn’t it been tackled by our government? Don’t we have police to arrest drug dealers and courts of law to jail them?

But all is not lost. If we elect true leaders irrespective of their tribes, life will be better.

My fellow wananchi, the leaders we choose determine the way we live.
 So, let’s vote wisely!

I am back bigger and better!

Devolution promotes democratic and accountable exercise of power. This includes fostering national unity by recognizing diversity; giving powers of self-governance of the people and enhancing the participation of the people in the exercise of powers of the state and in making decisions affecting them; and recognizing the right of the communities to manage their own affairs and to further their development. #ECJP #CEDGG #Moses2017 #MosesToday #YOUTHSMUSTKNOW #KNOWLEDGEISPOWER TO ME DEVOLUTION IS WORKING PROGRESSIVELY AND IT MUST WORK BETTER.

Not liking someone is no excuse for not loving them.

Colossians 3:12-14says, Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Also, in john 13:34 Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Loving others isn’t an option; it’s a requirement — a command. As a follower of Christ, there are no excuses for not loving someone.

WHAT DOES 21ST-CENTURY CHRISTIAN YOUTH NEED?

We thank the God of heaven that there are youth in His church who love Him and make their best effort to live a godly life. It is both refreshing and encouraging to see their youthful zeal. If young folks are in the Christ, then I do not look at them as the church of the future – they are just as much God’s child as I am, and they are the church of the present. True, they may be future leaders in the church, and they may outlive older members and keep the church going strong, but I dare not count them as low-level or inferior members of the body.

What are the spiritual needs of our youth? What do they need in their lives that can help them to bear spiritual fruit and be ready to go to heaven after their earthly journey ends? I do not have a magic wand that can guarantee 100% spiritual success, but here are five fundamental needs of today’s young saints.

(1) To see good examples from adult Christians – Paul told the brethren in Philippi, “The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you” (Philippians 4:9). We who are older owe it to our younger brothers and sisters to set the same kind of example that Paul did. As the same apostle instructed Titus, “in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works” (Titus 2:7), so our lives ought to be an exemplary model for our youth. As we teach them God’s truth, we must also live it in our own lives (Romans 2:21-23).

(2) To be loved – That is a basic human need at each stage and age of life. Our youth may never directly say to us, “Please love me,” but, in fact, they have a tremendous need to be on the receiving end of agape love – the kind of love that wants what is best for them. They need to know that we really care for them, yes, that we “will very gladly spend and be spent” for them (2 Corinthians 12:15). They deserve to be encouraged and complimented for good efforts. Because our heart truly longs for them to have the most fruitful life in Jesus (Colossians 1:10), we must be committed to telling them what they need to hear for their personal and spiritual development. That includes discipline in two phases: first, education about proper conduct in God’s sight, and second, when needed, a word or action that warns or rebukes. Jesus rebukes and chastens those whom He loves (Rev. 3:19). There are times when our youth need “tough love,” but let us always approach them with respect and compassion.

 (3) To be given opportunities to use and develop their talents – Servants of the Lord, at every age level, have abilities. As the Parable of the Talents shows us (Matthew 25:14-30), our Lord wants us to use for His glory the abilities and blessings which He has placed in our hands. Yes, He wants us to be faithful stewards (1 Corinthians 4:1). Like those of us whose youthful days are a distant memory, young saints need to use and develop their talents. That takes time. It also takes experience, but one cannot gain experience unless he/she is granted opportunities. Let us make our greatest effort to get our youth involved in the work of the local church – involved in visiting widows, performing tasks around the church building, reaching out to members who have left their first love, distributing literature, leading in worship (if brothers), helping teach kids, and many other aspects of the Kingdom. Let us take time to work with them and train them. It will pay great dividends both now and in the future.

(4) To develop close friendships with other faithful members of the Lord’s church – Studies indicate that when young disciples of Jesus have a close friendship with not just one, but several other young saints, they have a much higher probability of remaining faithful to the Lord through the trials of life that inevitably will come their way. While “Evil company corrupts good habits” (1 Corinthians 15:33), it is equally true that close camaraderie with those of “like precious faith” (2 Peter 1:1) can be a wonderful leavening factor, provide encouragement, and even supply “positive peer pressure” to keep a person from making foolish choices. Parents, you are making an invaluable investment in your child’s future when you provide him and his close Christian friends with opportunities to spend time together.

(5) To develop their own personal faith –This is the key, brethren. It is not simply of major importance, it is the key! The Bible says that what overcomes the world is our faith (1 John 5:4). The just/righteous live and please God by faith (Hebrews 10:38,39). Since faith is produced by hearing God’s word (John 17:20; Romans 10:17), then this must be the focus of our efforts! We must get our youth into God’s Book – teach them, indoctrinate them, ground them in the truth. The four matters that I have already mentioned above will be of no value unless a young sister or brother develops her/his own faith; not an inherited faith, but a personal faith that is a blend of conviction and trust that leads to obedience.

Do you know what? As I look over the above list of five things that I scribbled down today, I realize that even though I am closer to 40 years of age than I am to 20 years , I have a lot in common with my youthful sisters and brothers – my spiritual needs are basically the same as theirs. That is correct. While I may have to face somewhat different challenges at this stage of my life, in reality, if I am going to serve my Lord faithfully, then my spiritual needs must be met – the very same needs that our youth have. Hmm, I must be special, too! Let us pray for our youth and support their efforts to live for the living God.

POSITIVE VALUES

POSITIVE VALUES

Media has become a great avenue for teaching and learning. Whether electronic or print, media is taking the teenage world by storm—  teaching new ways of dressing, relating, expressing sexuality and many more.

Much of learning and copying behaviour has happened here. Of importance is whether we realise that there is a disconnect between the expected behaviour among our teens / youth and their day to day practices vis-a-vis the moral investment we made in their lives?

How can our impact on their lives be so effective, that they will withstand the pressures and trends that draw them away from the morals that we value as families and societies?  Perhaps the question here is our involvement in their lives during their formative stages and in their daily lives.  A child learns most during the ages of four to fourteen, this is the best time to inculcate positive values in their lives.

It does not end there; we must be actively involved in their lives even when it bothers them.  Wrong behaviour must be reprimanded with love and good behaviour praised and rewarded.  We must set the examples that we expect our children to follow and offer mentorship to them, if we want them to grow into responsible adults.

In addition to these, responsibility should come at a cost; for instance access to internet must come with a caveat or lesson on the negative aspects of the World Wide Web.  This will teach them to take responsibility for their actions and not pass the blame, or evade it altogether.

Your past does not equal your future.!!!

Your past does not equal your future.!!!
I don’t know about your past or what it was like but what I do know is that it can be changed.
“Don’t ever let someone tell you-you can’t do something. Not even me.”
In you there is a light that is waiting to be turned on. In you there are abilities waiting to be revealed. In you is compassion waiting to be shared. In you is love that is not yet given. In you is the person you are destined to become.
Your past does not equal your future.
Look into your own life. Let’s go back to your childhood days. Do you remember that kid in your class who always talks, seems to be districted and the prediction was that he was not going to amount to anything? But he did. Do you personally know of anyone who has proven that what they wanted out of life became a reality? Do you remember that nerd who no one wanted to talk to? But he or she has become a great success. I say that to say, you don’t have to go too far to realize that your past doesn’t equal your future.
If what you are experiencing is poverty. That can change. If in your past you had bad relationships after bad relationships. That can change. If you were told you are not good enough. That can change. It doesn’t matter what the experiences were, you can have a better future.
A quick note: You may have to change your mindset. You may have to believe in yourself before others do. You may have to start using examples of other people success to encourage your own endeavors, but don’t judge your future base on your past experiences. Everybody has experience that they sometimes which they could change but you know what, it is some of those same experiences helped them to be who they are today. What they did was use their experiences to propel them forward into being a better and stronger person and you must believe you too can do the same.
What do you believe is possible for you?

Don’t Feel Guilty For Being A Success!

I want you to take a look back on your life. Take a good look to see where you are coming from. Do you remember some of the things you had to do without? Do you remember when you wanted some things and you couldn’t get it? Despite how your earlier years have been, you made a decision to apply yourself. You decided to do whatever it takes (being that it is within the laws) to get you where you are. Making sacrifice after sacrifice may have been part of your journey. Then, why are you feeling guilty about your success?

To feel guilty for something that you have honestly earned is fighting an unnecessary battle with yourself.

Being that you are now successful, you are going to attract people who are not excited about your success. That’s part of life. However, you don’t want those who are not jubilant about your success get to you or cause you to feel guilty about your success. You’ve earned it, right! Then, don’t allow anyone to make your feel that doing better is a bad thing.

By you achieving something worthwhile out of life show to others that it is possible for them as well.

Being that you are now in a position to help those who are deprived of some of life necessity, you’ll then realize meaningful it will be because of the position you are in. Then, why should you feel guilty for having something others don’t have? Remember, you are the one who put in the work, (of course with the help of others) the time and the effort to make what you are now enjoying a reality. In short, you’ve earned it.

Guilty, you shouldn’t be.

What you should feel is, being proud of your achievements!

Others have done it, so can you!

Let’s make up our minds to be!

HAVE A BLESSED WEDNESDAY

“ITS ABOUT THAT TIME”

What’s about time for you?

It’s about time you count yourself in. It’s about time you start believing you deserve to be at the table. It’s about time you leave your comfort zone to see what else is available for you. It’s about time you go after your desired goal. It’s about time you think better of yourself. It about time to believe that you can achieve your goal. It’s about time you avoid toxic relationships. It’s about time you start expecting the best. It’s about time you impact someone life positively. It’s about time you are financially secure. It’s about time you speak your truth. It’s about time you be happy. It’s about time you pay attention to your thinking. It’s about time you pay attention to your feelings. It’s about time you believe in yourself. It’s about time you accept the Divine within. It’s about time to let go of your limiting beliefs. It’s about time you start dreaming big. It’s about time you see the opportunity that is around you. It’s about time you start from where you are planted. It’s about time you believe you have what it takes. It’s about time you believe what’s in your heart. It’s about time you believe you are not alone. It’s about time you use your imagination. It’s about time you believe you are here to prosper. It’s about time you to have a good relationship. It’s about time you have a breakthrough. It’s about time you celebrate. It’s about time you love again. It’s about time you think constructively. It’s about time you love the skin you are in. It’s about time you trust the spirit within. It’s about time you get out of your own way. It’s about time you bet on yourself. It’s about time you forgive yourself. It’s about time you take a chance. It’s about time you show someone kindness. It’s about time you commit to your goals. It’s about time you speak positively over your life and other people’s life. It’s about time you enjoy each and every day. It’s about time you let go of hate, envy, jealousy and distrust. It’s about time to show more LOVE.

Remind Yourself Often Of Your Reason For Pursuing Your Dream

Remind Yourself Often Of Your Reason For Pursuing Your Dream

“Dreams don’t work unless we do.”

Don’t forget your reason for pursuing your dream. I don’t know if you are already in the habit of reminding yourself often your reason for what you want out of life, but you should. When you use positive sentences repeatedly you’ll develop a positive perception of yourself and a positive outlook for what you want.

At times, we do things unconsciously because of the things we have stored away in our subconscious mind. If we want to change our results or habitual behaviors we have to consciously reprogram our mind through repetition. To influence yourself positively it has to be deliberate and intentional.

For that, I hope I catch you the right time because settling now would be crazy on your part. I believe your dream is important to you. Right!

I know you don’t like the delays and the rejections. However, that’s part of the journey, my friend. You don’t want to be the one later feeling dissatisfied. You’ll if you’ve stopped chasing your dreams. You must find it in you the courage to tackle obstacles, to press forward and let those who cannot see what is in your mind’s eye who are sorry.

Remember, you have done most of the work already. You have laid the foundation and I know by you chasing your dreams, you must have believed in the possibility of achieving your dream.

It is going to worth it.

Don’t give up on yourself or your dreams. To put it another way, “The number one reason people give up on their dream is because they tend to look at how far they still have to go, instead of how far they have gotten.” You have already covered some grounds.

You deserve to have your dreams come true. Stay the course!
